The $350 Show — March 18th, Thursday 7-9 PM
The $500 Show — March 25th, Thursday 7-9 PM

“So, how does this work exactly? Well, this is a series of mixed media, group shows featuring the same group of island artists. Each week they will feature different works with the unifying theme being the price! You will know when you walk in the door what the price of each piece is … that’s why it’s important to get IN the door at 7 PM SHARP!!! Last year’s series was a huge hit and those “in the know” snapped up some great art at some AWESOME prices! On your marks, get set ….and GO!”

West Coast Weather

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

We woke to rain this morning followed quickly by snow with flakes the size of snowballs. We had already decided to take the girls to Beban Park to go swimming. By the time we hit Nanaimo the snow was coming fast and furious but by the time we left the pool the sun was trying to peak through and all trace of the white stuff was gone! As we were waiting for the ferry back to Gabriola my husband snapped a picture of a rainbow with his IPhone. What a crazy day for weather but I really appreciate that by mid afternoon our back deck was dry and the sun was shining! I love this place.

Beach Day!

Monday, March 8th, 2010

It was a fantastic, sunny day on Friday and we decided to hit one of the great Gabriola beaches. The girls and I quickly packed ourselves up and went Pilot Bay to meet up with some friends, both the girls and mine. After a fun play in the sand finding shells, skipping rocks, and playing tag we headed up the road to the Twin Beaches Bakery for lunch. The girls gobbled down a yummy lunch followed by a gooey treat consisting of a “Twin Bit” doughnut and a Copenhagen pastry. After lunch we came home, grabbed the bikes and spent the afternoon playing hide and seek and riding up and down the hills in our backyard. It was such a wonderful day, a treat that the weather was so beautiful, spring is definitely in the air!
