The median price for the spring of 2006 is $239,000 as compared to the spring of 2005 at $225,000. Total number of properties currently on the market is 92. Of these 38 are bare land and the rest are residential. In addition there are 8 commercial properties for sale.
Market activity and values appear to be remaining stable at this time.

The Hope center on North Road will start Gabriola Island Family Trekkers (GIFT), a bi weekly walking group for parents and young children, starts July 6.
D'Ants in Yer Pants, a concert for kids and families, October 1 at the Community Hall, will be run entirely by kids (5-19) who have worked with professional mentors to learn the basics of putting on a live performance.
School District 68 has introduced Learn @ Home for grade 8-12. Each course is led by a BC certified teacher and students can enroll in any course or selection of courses online, contact Scott Saywell, district principal.
People for a Healthy Community at 675 North Road now have a children's room for Moms and tots to relax with a cup of coffee, as well as many programs of support for families and children.
