“Gabriola Island’s largest park is on its way to getting a proper name and a long-term plan. Island residents and land-use experts throughout BC’s South Coast are developing a management plan for the 707 Acre Community Park, which occupies the island’s north-centre and its highest point. In January the Regional District of Nanaimo awarded a contract for the management plan to a group of residents and professionals, called the 707 Collaborative” (from the RDN news release). This past weekend they met with interested members of the community in a workshop format to start the process, the first phase should be completed by the end of this year.
