A day in the Gardens

This past holiday Monday Robyn and I and all the kids headed down to The Commons to help ‘People for a Healthy Community’ get the food bank garden beds ready for planting. Together with a group of volunteers we weeded, mowed, turned soil and planted starts of kale and chard to help get the garden plots up and going for this summer and fall season. These gardens supplement the food bank with much need and extremely appreciated fresh produce. We had a lovely time and the kids
ran free exploring the property and even found a bird’s nest complete with large baby birds that likely have left the nest since that day.
