A group of us took the day to head up to Mount Washington yesterday to try snowshoeing. We arrived around noon and after bathroom breaks, renting equipment, and getting trail passes we were ready for our afternoon adventure. It was a blast, tons of snow either packed or powder depending on your preference. We went just shy of 5 km and I will definitely do it again. It is also an incredibly affordable way to spend the afternoon as for only $18.75+tax you get rental and a trail pass, if you have your own equipment you spend just $6+tax for hours of fun and exercise! (For those who don’t know, Mt. Washington is only an 1 1/2 hour drive from downtown Nanaimo, about 2 hours including the Gabriola ferry)
