Our family moved to Gabriola in 1978.
Carly was almost 2 years old and Robyn would be born the following year. Our parents, Lesley & Glenn McMahon were attracted to the quiet and beautiful surroundings, and close proximity to work and shopping in Nanaimo. They were especially interested in the small friendly community and considered Gabriola a good place to raise a family.
In 1985, Lesley started her career in real estate sales. She was a successful REALTOR® for 26 years and mentored Robyn & Carly when they joined the family business, passing down invaluable knowledge of real estate on Gabriola and the skill-set to get the job done right, with honesty, care, and experience.
Carly and Robyn both left Gabriola after high school, seeking out new adventures in the big wide world, but once they were ready to start families of their own they were drawn back to Gabriola for the same reason their parents were attracted to the island decades before.
“There’s no place like home! There’s no place like home! There’s no place like home!” Not being able to think of anywhere better to live, three generations of the McMahon family are loving life on Gabriola.
